Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wet Hell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bread Panterson! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panterson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hell checks the leg kick nicely there.
Panterson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Panterson being controlled here momentarily. Hell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Panterson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Panterson throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Panterson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Panterson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hell is out of range. Panterson misses with the combination.
Panterson misses the jab. Panterson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hell was covering up waiting for the punch and Panterson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hell pushes Panterson off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Panterson shoots in and gets a takedown into Hell's guard. Hell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Panterson passes Hell's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Panterson is trying to control. Hell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panterson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hell has hold of Panterson's hands but Panterson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Panterson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hell controlling the position for now. Panterson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hell defends it well. Hell is positioning himself well to prevent Panterson advancing to mount. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Panterson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hell's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Panterson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Panterson thows a leg kick but Hell checks it and Hell counters by moving into the clinch. Hell gets control of Panterson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hell will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Panterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hell is adopting a defensive guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Panterson postures up.

Bread Panterson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hell moves into full mount! Panterson won't be happy about that! Panterson is breathing heavily. Hell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Panterson is looking to escape. Hell swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Panterson is now in Hell's guard. A big mistake from Hell there, giving up the dominant position! Panterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hell pulls Panterson in close to prevent any damage. Panterson trying to control but Hell is working from the bottom. Hell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Panterson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hell wants to sweep but no luck. Hell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Panterson wants to pass the guard but Hell is keeping the position. Panterson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panterson tries to free his leg and advance position but Hell is retaining full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hell is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hell stands and steps away. Panterson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Hell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Panterson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hell wants to sweep but no luck. Panterson postures up.

Bread Panterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Panterson swings around for an armbar but Hell sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Panterson's guard.

Hell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Hell tries a body shot but Panterson blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Hell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. You can see the frustration on Hell's face as Panterson controls the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hell is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Panterson off and has taken his back! Panterson prevents Hell from getting a body triangle. Hell trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Panterson doesn't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hell not allowing Panterson to control his hands. Hell controlling the position well here. Panterson rolled but Hell kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Panterson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wet Hell. I think Panterson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
