Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh McCuistion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George SP (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCuistion's entrance music is Sunken Hips in Space. A fine choice. George SP has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh McCuistion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George SP! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCuistion stuffs the takedown attempt from SP. SP gets slowly back to his feet. McCuistion misses with a body shot.
SP misses with a takedown attempt - McCuistion sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McCuistion could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. SP tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McCuistion swivels and escapes. Josh McCuistion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George SP. McCuistion shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. SP looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCuistion is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. McCuistion stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. SP swivels though and keeps the full guard. McCuistion trying to control the position from guard on top but SP is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. SP has a closed guard, preventing McCuistion from standing up. McCuistion trying to control but SP is working from the bottom. McCuistion might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. McCuistion preventing the sweep. SP working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCuistion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCuistion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCuistion won't allow SP to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if SP can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McCuistion shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. SP is working to get back to half guard.
SP wants to hold on but McCuistion pushes him away. McCuistion working the ground and pound effectively.
SP tries to reverse the position but McCuistion maintains control. SP is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. SP looks gassed! SP sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. McCuistion blocks the strikes from SP.
McCuistion is sneakily working for an arm triangle but SP sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. SP wants to control but McCuistion is keeping busy and won't allow it. McCuistion looks to land a strike but SP avoids it nicely and regains full guard. SP keeping moving, preventing McCuistion from controlling successfully. SP looking to control.
McCuistion is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. SP working for a triangle but McCuistion defends it easily.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McCuistion shoots in but no luck this time. McCuistion has SP up against the cage in a clinch.
SP manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCuistion shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McCuistion was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! McCuistion prevents SP from getting the reversal. McCuistion with good strikes from the mount here! McCuistion with the ground and pound from mount. SP keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McCuistion with shots to the head and body - SP looks very uncomfortable down there. SP tries to hold on but McCuistion pushes him away. McCuistion in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

McCuistion lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. SP looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. McCuistion postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. SP looks a forlorn figure.

Josh McCuistion dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
McCuistion stuns SP with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. SP shoots in but no luck this time. McCuistion gets a clinch. SP wants a takedown but no success here.
McCuistion wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but SP has him pressed against the cage. McCuistion pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McCuistion fails in his attempt to clinch. McCuistion decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. McCuistion slips a nice elbow through SP's hands, connecting with SP's forehead. SP is positioning himself well to prevent McCuistion advancing to mount. SP slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. SP is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McCuistion is controlling him. SP is breathing heavily. SP throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

McCuistion stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. SP swivels though and keeps the full guard. McCuistion is trying to control the action in half guard but SP is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. SP keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. SP is looking to control McCuistion's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can SP avoid being mounted? SP is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McCuistion scores with a couple of nice shots. SP keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. SP bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. McCuistion is trying to improve his position. SP takes a little break here. SP gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McCuistion counters with a nice double leg into side control. SP won't be happy with that. McCuistion passes to full mount! That's big trouble for SP! SP tries to lock up and control but McCuistion gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McCuistion prevents SP from getting the reversal. George SP has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McCuistion is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. SP throws a big right hand that misses. Josh McCuistion is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McCuistion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Josh McCuistion. Well McCuistion has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
