Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonidus Cesar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Claremont! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Cesar wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cesar throws an elbow but it misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Claremont manages to break the clinch.
Claremont drops his shoulder and cracks Cesar with a huge uppercut! Cesar goes down! Can Claremont finish him?
It looks like Leonidus Cesar has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Claremont pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cesar is keeping the position for now. Cesar looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Claremont has picked Cesar up and slammed him! Cesar can't keep hold of the triangle and Claremont manages to pass to side control! A lull in the action here. Cesar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Claremont wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Claremont landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Claremont cracks Cesar with a big right hand but Cesar just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Claremont decides to take the fight back to the feet. Claremont shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cesar's guard. Cesar is breathing heavily. Claremont showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Claremont wanted to stand there but Cesar had control of the position. Claremont stays in close to Cesar's body and controls the position. Claremont really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cesar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cesar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Claremont gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Claremont pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cesar is keeping the position for now. Claremont stays in close to Cesar's body and controls the position. Let's hope that Claremont has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Claremont's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Claremont passes Cesar's left leg - he's now in half guard. Cesar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Claremont controlling the action here. Claremont lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Claremont trying to control the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Claremont lands a nice short elbow. Claremont controlling the action here.
Despite being in the dominant position, Matt Claremont just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Claremont bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cesar tries to bench press Claremont off him but Claremont keeps the position. Claremont scores with punches from side control. Cesar taking a bit of punishment here - Claremont scoring with strikes. Claremont has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Claremont darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Claremont seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

It looks like he's just sitting there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. I looks like Claremont might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claremont fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cesar, pushing him back against the cage. Cesar is trying to stall.
Claremont breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Claremont changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cesar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Claremont connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cesar some visible discomfort.
Cesar is looking to reverse the position. Cesar trying to remain calm as Claremont controls from the top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Claremont closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cesar to the mat! Cesar manages to get full guard. Claremont wants to get up but he can't break Cesar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Claremont stays in close to Cesar's body and controls the position. Cesar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Claremont gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Claremont not doing a lot at the moment. Cesar is refusing to be controlled, as Claremont sits in half guard. Claremont with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Matt Claremont comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Claremont has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
