Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Archie Ortega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raymond Kinsiong! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortega moves into range and clinches up with Kinsiong. Kinsiong looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Kinsiong gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ortega.
Ortega tries for a takedown but Kinsiong manages to get underhooks.
Kinsiong misses with the head strike.
Kinsiong can't break the clinch.
Ortega gets underhooks to prevent Kinsiong's takedown attempt.
Ortega lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ortega drops an elbow to the side of Kinsiong's head. Ortega stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fight stays on the outside here - Ortega looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ortega gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Archie Ortega. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ortega has had enough of the clinch but Kinsiong keeps him there for the moment. Ortega can't get the takedown.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ortega. Ortega lands a few punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ortega moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Ortega decides to stand back up. Ortega steps back and let's Kinsiong get back to his feet. Ortega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Ortega is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ortega stands up from Kinsiong's guard - Ortega perhaps looking for a knockout. Ortega fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kinsiong to the ground. Ortega is now in Kinsiong's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortega won't allow Kinsiong to get back to his feet. Ortega throws a big right hand that misses. Ortega controls from within his opponent's guard. Ortega postures up and lands a big shot to Kinsiong's brow. Ortega landing some decent shots from guard. Ortega controlling from the top position. Ortega has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ortega shoots in and gets a takedown into Kinsiong's guard. Ortega controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ortega seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kinsiong for as long as he can get away with. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ortega gets to his feet. Kinsiong looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Raymond Kinsiong has been cut. Kinsiong tries to clinch but Ortega moves out of range. Ortega gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ortega is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Kinsiong looking to stall.
Kinsiong misses with a knee strike.
Ortega is looking for a takedown. Ortega wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kinsiong is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ortega breaks the clinch.
Kinsiong leaves Ortega with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ortega has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ortega is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kinsiong can do to turn this around? A combination from Ortega does no damage. Kinsiong tries a head kick but it misses.
Kinsiong gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ortega to score an easy takedown into full guard. Ortega slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ortega continues to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortega preventing the sweep. Ortega stays in close to Kinsiong's body and controls the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Kinsiong enables Ortega to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kinsiong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ortega is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ortega's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Ortega scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ortega works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortega frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ortega sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ortega lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ortega landing strikes, looking to finish! Ortega content just to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ortega looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Archie Ortega dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Raymond Kinsiong's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Ortega bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kinsiong taking punishment in the form of punches.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ortega lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Ortega has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ortega gets a takedown into half guard. Ortega is taking a breather. Kinsiong says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. This is a sustained period of stalling by Ortega. Kinsiong takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega decides to return to a standing position. Raymond Kinsiong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ortega tries to bum rush Kinsiong with a series of wild strikes but Kinsiong uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Some bone on bone action there as Ortega checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ortega pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ortega tries to clinch up but Kinsiong circles away and keeps his distance. Ortega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Ortega content to stall in guard here.

Ortega looks to land a combination but Kinsiong avoids it well. Archie Ortega is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ortega has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ortega thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ortega not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ortega moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ortega drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kinsiong pulls his leg out and moves away.
Raymond Kinsiong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Archie Ortega is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kinsiong throws a head kick that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Archie Ortega showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ortega has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
