Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Declan Sweeney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shavo Odin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sweeney comes to the cage accompanied by Four Star Mary - Pain. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Odin misses with a looping right.
Odin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shavo Odin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sweeney takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Odin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

and Sweeney counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Odin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Odin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sweeney displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Odin.
We've been hearing reports that Sweeney has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Sweeney fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Odin manages to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Odin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Odin takes a swing at Sweeney's ribcage but misses.
Odin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Odin lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sweeney has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sweeney and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Odin swings for the body but Sweeney moves out of range.
Sweeney misses with an uppercut
and Odin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Odin moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Odin lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sweeney's sensitive parts.
Sweeney gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Odin to score an easy takedown into full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sweeney is on top in guard.

Sweeney takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Odin tries to lock up and control but Sweeney gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Sweeney misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

A close round but Shavo Odin will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Odin misses with a looping left.
Odin shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

and Sweeney counters with a good low kick that Odin was not able to check.
Odin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Odin is trying to improve his position.

Sweeney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Shavo Odin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Odin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Sweeney will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Sweeney tries to bum rush Odin with a series of wild strikes but Odin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Sweeney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Odin's guard.

Sweeney trying to control the position from guard on top but Odin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sweeney got a little sloppy there for a moment and Odin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sweeney has managed to get both his arms back between Odin's legs - danger averted.

Odin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sweeney thuds his right hand into Odin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sweeney throws a powerful right kick. Odin tried to block low but the kick was high! Odin was taken right off of his feet! Sweeney jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
