Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Cardenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djeko Furoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Djeko Furoni told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardenas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Furoni slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cardenas manages to work his way to half guard, despite Furoni's best efforts.
Cardenas is trying to maintain the position but Furoni is very close to passing his half guard.
Furoni looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Furoni passes the guard and advances to mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cardenas is just holding on here. Furoni manages to take his back.

Furoni is looking for the choke from the back position but Cardenas is controlling his hands well.

Furoni is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Cardenas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Furoni is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cardenas knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cardenas for a finish.
Furoni is not going to allow Cardenas to sit and survive in this position.
