Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Kampemann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kampemann is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: pretty enough. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Martin Kampemann!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kampemann lands with a hook. Cortez tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

and Kampemann decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cortez's guard.
Cortez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kampemann got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cortez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kampemann has managed to get both his arms back between Cortez's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kampemann postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cortez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kampemann, into his guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Cortez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
