Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vega has time to react.
Vega tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zal waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vega.
Zal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vega circles away quickly and effectively.
Zal swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Vega blocks a jab.
Nick Zal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zal showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vega.
Zal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zal throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zal missing with a left hand there. Vega was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Zal fails to land with a series of punches.
Zal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vega circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vega shoots for a takedown but Zal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nick Zal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vega keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Zal.
Zal misses with a body shot.
Vega moves out of range of the strikes.
Vega closes the distance and clinches.
Zal swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Vega dodges an elbow strike from Zal.
Zal goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Zal manages to break the clinch.
Zal feints a jab promting Vega to slip. Zal then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Vega slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zal misses with a wild combination.
Zal rushes Vega and presses him up against the cage.
Zal manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Zal has hold of one of Vega's legs. Vega is fighting the takedown attempt but Zal gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Zal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Zal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vega. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zal trying to control the position from guard on top but Vega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vega will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vega looking for a sweep. Not yet Vega, not yet.
Vega trying to keep a closed guard but Zal is proving a slippery customer.
Vega working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zal.
Zal looking to pass the guard.
Vega thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Zal looking to sit in guard and control but Vega gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Zal looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Zal manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Zal is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Zal has picked Vega up - he's going for a ride! Zal dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Vega wants to improve his position but Zal is controlling well.
Vega throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Vega is looking to control Zal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vega avoid being mounted?
Zal content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Vega misses with some strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Zal dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Zal throws a series of punches but Vega avoids them all with ease.
Zal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Vega at a distance.
Zal falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vega counters with a left and a right that stings Zal.
Vega defending well as Zal loads up on a big left hand.
Zal misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Vega counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Zal fails to land with a series of punches.
Zal moves into the clinch successfully.
Zal lands a body punch in the clinch.
Vega goes for a takedown attempt but Zal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A punch combination from Zal misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Zal. Those never looked like landing.
Zal has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Vega moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Vega is rocked!
It looks like Solomon Vega has been cut.
Zal drops Vega with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Vega! Zal dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Zal!
