Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eliod Bunkley Iii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bunkley Iii comes to the cage accompanied by Knocksville Girl. Hardy has chosen Run this town as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eliod Bunkley Iii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Hardy! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bunkley Iii tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hardy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bunkley Iii somewhat. Bunkley Iii fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bunkley Iii misses with a takedown and Hardy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eliod Bunkley Iii. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bunkley Iii throws a shot from downtown. Hardy moves away and avoids it. Bunkley Iii has his takedown stuffed and Hardy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bunkley Iii misses with a takedown and Hardy counters with a nice uppercut. Bunkley Iii shoots in for a takedown but Hardy shows good takedown defense. Bunkley Iii has his takedown stuffed and Hardy counters with a thumping low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hardy throws a jab when Bunkley Iii was well out of range. Nice takedown defense from Hardy. No joy for Bunkley Iii on that attempt. Bunkley Iii closes the distance and clinches up with Hardy, looking for a takedown. Bunkley Iii pushes Hardy against the cage but Hardy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bunkley Iii misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bunkley Iii slips a jab from Hardy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bunkley Iii cracks Hardy with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Bunkley Iii with a lazy takedown attempt and Hardy counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bunkley Iii lands with a shot to the body. Hardy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hardy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bunkley Iii was well out of range. Poor timing from Hardy. Bunkley Iii has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hardy cracks Bunkley Iii with a nice body shot. Hardy lands a takedown into guard.
Hardy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hardy is in close to Bunkley Iii's body, working some short punches and elbows. We've been hearing good reports from Bunkley Iii's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Bunkley Iii is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bunkley Iii working for a triangle but Hardy defends it easily.
Hardy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bunkley Iii's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bunkley Iii looking for subs off his back but Hardy has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hardy seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hardy moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Bunkley Iii. Hardy landing a few strikes. Bunkley Iii tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bunkley Iii throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Bunkley Iii is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hardy off and has taken his back! Hardy looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Hardy right now.
Hardy tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Bunkley Iii thowing shots but they're missing. Bunkley Iii with shots to the head and body - Hardy looks very uncomfortable down there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hardy manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. Hardy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hardy. Bunkley Iii throws an elbow that misses. Hardy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bunkley Iii's guard. Nice move by Hardy! Hardy tries to free his leg and advance position but Bunkley Iii is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bunkley Iii escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bunkley Iii has his feet on Hardy's thighs here. He's pushed Hardy off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hardy screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eliod Bunkley Iii! A very excited looking Eliod Bunkley Iii rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. Chad Hardy was interviewed post fight and said 'As always I can do everything through Christ my lord and savior who strengthens me. Without him I wouldn't be here tonight. Don't worry I'll be back.'.
