Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cooper Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Run (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vince Run has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cooper Higgins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vince Run!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Run throws a one two combo.


It looks like Cooper Higgins has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Run is defended easily by Higgins.
Higgins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Run swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Higgins stuffs the takedown attempt from Run. Run gets slowly back to his feet.
Run fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cooper Higgins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Run.

Higgins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Run really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Higgins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Run preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Higgins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Run does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Run holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Higgins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Run pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Run escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Higgins jumps guard but Run turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Run's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Run is trying to push Higgins away but Higgins has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Run tries to break free but Higgins pushes him back against the cage.

Run throws a push kick but Higgins slaps the foot to one side.

Higgins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Run was covering up waiting for the punch and Higgins finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Higgins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Run is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Higgins, into his guard.

Higgins looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Run puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Higgins misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Higgins is looking for a sweep. Run is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Higgins wants to get back to his feet.
Higgins manages to get to full guard.
Higgins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Higgins has his foot on Run's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Run works his way back into a safe position though.
Run wants to pass the guard but Higgins is keeping the position.

Run must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Higgins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Run is aware though and is defending well.

Cooper Higgins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Higgins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Vince Run seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Higgins closes the distance and clinches up with Run, looking for a takedown. Higgins pushes Run against the cage but Run circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
