The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Yates bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith scores with a hook.
Smith misses with a two punch combination.
Smith swinging wildly here.
Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yates circles away quickly and effectively.
Yates displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab.
Yates takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Lamar Yates has been cut.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Yates shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yates's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Smith.
Yates is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith drops Yates with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Yates! Smith dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Smith!
After the fight, Jack Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
