Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Archie Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leo Katona!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Katona sprawls well initially but Nelson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Katona tries to get to full guard but Nelson has control of the leg.
Katona is looking to control Nelson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Katona avoid being mounted?
Katona avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nelson.
Katona is trying to stand up here but Nelson is controlling him well.

Katona looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Nelson pushes past his half guard into mount!
Katona can't escape the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Katona wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nelson.
Katona manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nelson wants to work for an arm triangle but Katona is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Katona is trying to stand up here but Nelson is controlling him well.
It looks like Nelson is going to stand back up.
Katona moves into full guard.
Katona has a closed guard, preventing Nelson from standing up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Katona avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Katona is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Katona throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nelson throwing strikes from guard but Katona blocks nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nelson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Katona is trying to get back to half guard.

Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Katona has escaped the position, nice work there.
Katona tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Katona gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nelson passes to full mount!
Nelson looking to control and managing it successfully.
Katona tries to lock up and control but Nelson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Katona sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Nelson is looking to take a break and control but Katona is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Katona is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nelson pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Archie Nelson dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Katona throws a head kick that misses.
Leo Katona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson wants to clinch up but Katona keeps it at a distance.
Nelson drops his hands momentarily and Katona takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nelson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Katona can do to turn this around?
Katona connects with a nice looking jab.
Katona throws a nice head kick!
Katona is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nelson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


Nelson is rocked!
Katona is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Nice straight punches there by Katona. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Katona.
Oh Nelson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Katona catches Nelson with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Nelson forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Leo Katona!
In defeat, Archie Nelson stepped up to the mic, saying 'best 2 of 3?'.
