Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toupet Nissen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toupet Nissen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Perry! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Perry. Perry throws a strike aimed at the side of Nissen's head but Nissen avoids it well. Nissen can't do much from the bottom here. Perry grinds an elbow into Nissen's temple. Nissen is looking to reverse the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nissen wants to control but Perry postures up. Nissen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Perry. Nissen is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nissen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Perry.

Perry trying to control the position from guard on top but Nissen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nissen managing to control the position. Perry with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nissen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Nissen is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Perry can do anything to dispel that myth. Perry is trying is best to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry tries to get to full guard but Nissen has control of the leg. Perry is refusing to be controlled, as Nissen sits in half guard. Nissen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Perry sees it coming and defends easily. Nissen sitting and controlling from the half guard. Perry is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Perry scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nissen is looking to reverse the position. Perry cracks Nissen with an elbow. That is naaassty. Nissen tries to improve position but can't. Nissen defending against the ground and pound. Perry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nissen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nissen tries to improve position but can't. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Check out the look on Perry's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Nissen wants to control but Perry postures up. Perry looks up at the clock and then as Nissen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Perry smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Nissen gets a double leg takedown into Perry's guard. Nissen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perry swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nissen trying to control but Perry is working from the bottom. Perry looking for a sweep. Not yet Perry, not yet. Perry pulls Nissen in close to his closed guard and prevents Nissen from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nissen wants to get up but he can't break Perry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Perry drives through with a takedown into guard. Nissen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Perry looking to sit in guard and control but Nissen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nissen wants to pass the guard but Perry is keeping the position. Perry is trying to control the position but Nissen postures up.

Nissen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perry swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nissen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nissen, into his guard. Nissen wants to sweep here but Perry controlling him for the moment. Perry wants to pass the guard but Nissen is keeping the position. Nissen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nissen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nissen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Perry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Nissen throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Perry avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nissen is looking for a triangle but Perry pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perry is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nissen's half guard. Nissen trying to control from the bottom.

Perry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nissen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Perry defends well. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Nissen doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

He's being very persistent here but Perry manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Nissen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nissen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Perry is working Nissen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Perry scoring with punches to the head and body. Perry connects with a couple of short punches. Perry connects with a couple of short punches. Perry throws a big right hand that misses. Perry loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Perry cracks Nissen with a solid left hand. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nissen keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nissen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Perry. Perry bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nissen on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Perry cracks Nissen with a big right hand but Nissen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nissen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Perry not landing any meaningful shots this time. Perry missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nissen actively working from the bottom here. Nissen looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Perry is looking to take a break and control but Nissen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Perry has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perry wants to pass to mount but Nissen is defending the position. Nissen tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Perry manages to move to mount!

The referee warns Nissen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perry landing shots from mount. Nissen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! Adam Perry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Perry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
