Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benny Dorsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Stone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Benny Dorsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Stone!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone cracks Dorsey with an open hand slap.


It looks like Benny Dorsey has been cut.
A low kick from Dorsey is predictable there
and Stone counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Dorsey is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Stone closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dorsey is trying to stand up here but Stone is controlling him well.

Stone sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dorsey defending well though.
Dorsey is controlling Stone's trapped leg to prevent Stone from advancing to side control.
Stone wants to control but Dorsey is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dorsey is refusing to be controlled, as Stone sits in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Stone tries for a takedown but Dorsey circles away easily

and Dorsey counters by moving into the clinch.

Stone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Dorsey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Dorsey lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Stone is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Dorsey controlling from the top position.
Dorsey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stone for as long as he can get away with.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dorsey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dorsey gets control of Stone's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dorsey will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Dorsey doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dorsey holds on and takes a little breather.
Stone wanted to stand there but Dorsey had control of the position.

Dorsey seems keen to control Stone's posture.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stone shoots in for a takedown but Dorsey shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Benny Dorsey will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone has momentary wrist control but Dorsey slips an elbow through the middle.

Dorsey drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dorsey jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stone checks a low kick from Dorsey.
Stone dives in and grabs Dorsey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dorsey pushes down on Stone's head and hops out.
Benny Dorsey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Stone.
Stone throws a jab when Dorsey was well out of range.

Dorsey drives through and clinches with Stone against the cage.

Dorsey works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

More hug and hope from Dorsey.
Dorsey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dorsey gets a takedown into half guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dorsey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stone is defended easily by Dorsey.

Stone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dorsey moves into the clinch successfully.

Dorsey blocks a low kick nicely.

Dorsey gets the takedown into side control.
The referee asks Dorsey politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dorsey prefers to stall for the moment though.

Dorsey in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Stone is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
