PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fadden is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Walk. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fadden swats away the attempt to clinch by Tucker.

Fadden closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fadden tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tucker just stands there and leans against the cage.
A knee to the head by Tucker.


It looks like Jack Fadden has been cut.
Fadden is trying to break the clinch but Tucker has him pressed against the cage.
Tucker landing knees to the head.
Tucker is pushing Fadden up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Fadden pulls guard successfully.
Tucker wants to stand but Fadden has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tucker trying to control the position from guard on top but Fadden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tucker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tucker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tucker tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Fadden decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tucker's guard.
Tucker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fadden on the ground.

Tucker is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Fadden has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tucker is trying to keep an underhook but Fadden manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Fadden seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fadden postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Tucker to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Fadden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tucker won't be happy with that.
Tucker is breathing heavily.
Tucker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Fadden asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Fadden is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tucker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Tucker is looking to regain half guard here but Fadden keeps moving and retains side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fadden decides to stand back up.
A head kick misses from Tucker.
Tucker thuds his right hand into Fadden's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Fadden counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fadden.

Fadden jumps guard but Tucker stands there with Fadden around his waist. Fadden gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tucker with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Tucker lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Fadden lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Nice body punch from Fadden.
Tucker misses with a knee strike.
Tucker tries a knee to the head but Fadden blocks it.
Fadden tries to pull guard but Tucker holds him up against the cage and eventually Fadden drops back down to his feet.
Tom Tucker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Fadden.

Fadden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

so Fadden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fadden wants to control from the top but Tucker keeps moving.

Fadden is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Fadden prevents Tucker from getting back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tucker looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fadden puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Fadden dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tucker misses with a takedown

and Fadden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fadden.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fadden tries to free his leg and advance position but Tucker is retaining full guard.
Tucker wants to get back to his feet but Fadden is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tucker throws a head kick but Fadden moves out of range.

so Fadden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Tucker is trying to stand back up but Fadden is controlling him

Fadden has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tucker defend it? Fadden steps over the head and cranks it - Tucker is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Fadden!
