Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Volk Kruth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tico Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Volk Kruth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tico Cortez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruth closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cortez circles away.
Kruth fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cortez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cortez throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Kruth chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cortez can pounce on him.
Kruth throws a jab when Cortez was well out of range.

and Cortez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cortez lunges at Kruth with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kruth's hand.
Kruth throws a nice looking combination but Cortez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cortez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cortez wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Volk Kruth. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cortez shoots in looking for a takedown but Kruth manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cortez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cortez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kruth has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kruth and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kruth has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cortez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
