And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 47 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alistair Overdose!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a body shot.
Jackson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Overdose counters with a big head kick but Jackson shrugs it off.
Overdose moves away from the strike by Jackson.

and Overdose counters with a head kick.

Overdose gets caught flat footed, as Jackson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Overdose keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Overdose is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Overdose has escaped and now he's on top!

Overdose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Overdose must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Overdose controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Overdose wants to stand but Jackson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson throws a right hand that Overdose ducks under and follows up with a left that Overdose also avoids with ease.
Jackson lands a jab.
Left hook, right uppercut from Jackson.
Overdose checks the leg kick.
Jackson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Overdose holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Overdose escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Overdose takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Overdose keeps working.
Overdose avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jackson.

Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but Overdose defends the submission attempt.
Overdose is not content to let Jackson control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Overdose trying to control but Jackson postures up.
Jackson is trying to control. Overdose wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jackson gets to his feet - Overdose follows without any prompting.
Jackson throws a right and a left that Overdose avoids nicely.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Overdose was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Overdose can't do much from the bottom here.
Overdose might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jackson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
