Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Morrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Miner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joseph Miner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cesar Morrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joseph Miner!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Morrow has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Miner is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Miner content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Morrow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Morrow fails with a takedown attempt.

Miner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morrow was covering up waiting for the punch and Miner finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Morrow has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Miner has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Morrow manages to break the clinch.
Morrow fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Morrow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Miner is working an open guard so Morrow takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Miner rushes Morrow and presses him up against the cage.

Miner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A punch combination from Miner misses.

Miner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Morrow on his heels. He'll look to pass Morrow's guard now, I'm sure.
Miner looking to sit in guard and control but Morrow gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Miner is working an open guard so Morrow takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Morrow looks for a takedown but Miner sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cesar Morrow. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Miner gets a double leg takedown into Morrow's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morrow pulls Miner in close to prevent any damage.
Miner trying to control the position from guard on top but Morrow is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Morrow pulls Miner in close to his closed guard and prevents Miner from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Morrow scores with a takedown into Miner's guard.
Morrow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Morrow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Morrow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Morrow not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Morrow's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cesar Morrow will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Miner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miner stuffs the takedown attempt from Morrow. Morrow gets slowly back to his feet.
Morrow moves out of range of the body kick from Miner.

Morrow fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cesar Morrow. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Morrow decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Miner, up you get!

Miner throws a quick inside leg kick.
Morrow fails with the takedown
and Miner counters with a nice low kick that buckles Morrow's knee momentarily.

Miner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Morrow is holding on to half guard well.
Miner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Morrow knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Morrow is looking to improve his position.

Morrow keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
It looks like Miner is going to stand back up.
Morrow preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Morrow fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Miner avoids it really well and circles away.
Miner fails with an attempt to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Miner counters with a slapping leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Joseph Miner will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Morrow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Miner gets control of Morrow's arms and successfully pulls guard. Miner will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Miner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Morrow decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Morrow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Miner to the mat! Miner manages to get full guard.
Morrow is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Morrow thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Morrow postures up in Miner's guard and throws a big left but Miner blocks it.

Miner is working an open guard so Morrow takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Morrow tries for a takedown but Miner circles away easily
and Miner counters with a body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Miner gets a takedown into half guard.

Morrow has one foot on Miner's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Morrow or perhaps it was just good defense by Miner, which made it look bad.

Nice takedown defense from Miner. No joy for Morrow on that attempt.
Miner tries to clinch but Morrow moves out of range.

Morrow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Miner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cesar Morrow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Miner gets the takedown into side control.
The referee asks Miner politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Miner prefers to stall for the moment though.

Miner looking to control but instead Morrow has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morrow keeping hold of Miner's head, controlling as best he can.
Miner wants to stand up but Morrow manages to regain full guard.
Morrow pulls Miner in close to his closed guard and prevents Miner from doing any damage or advancing position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morrow is on top in guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cesar Morrow.
I think Morrow has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
