Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric DiazPerez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Alan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alan has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric DiazPerez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Alan! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DiazPerez gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DiazPerez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alan keeps working. DiazPerez passes the guard and advances to mount! DiazPerez trying to control but he's not successful this time. DiazPerez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That has opened up James Alan's cut even more. DiazPerez looking to control but Alan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Alan bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Alan looks gassed! Alan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. DiazPerez throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
DiazPerez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. DiazPerez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. DiazPerez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alan is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DiazPerez is striking from the bottom but Alan uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. DiazPerez is looking to control Alan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can DiazPerez avoid being mounted? DiazPerez tries to roll over but Alan keeps him under control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. DiazPerez is looking to clinch but Alan is avoiding it.
DiazPerez thows a body kick. Alan tries to catch it but that hurt him. DiazPerez gets a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DiazPerez is taking a breather. Alan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. DiazPerez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alan defends it well. DiazPerez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alan's head. DiazPerez trying to pass the guard but Alan defending well. DiazPerez tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Alan is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DiazPerez trying to control the action but Alan is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. DiazPerez fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for DiazPerez with that takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from DiazPerez. DiazPerez lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alan takes a shot right to the bread basket. DiazPerez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. DiazPerez drives through with a takedown into guard. Alan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. DiazPerez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alan. Alan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on DiazPerez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Alan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Alan tries to get to full guard but DiazPerez has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric DiazPerez dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Alan's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
DiazPerez throws a one two combo.
DiazPerez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alan is fending him off so far but DiazPerez persists. Nope, Alan circles away and we're back to standing. Alan tries to keep at a distance but DiazPerez has taken the fight into the clinch. DiazPerez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alan uses from the top position. DiazPerez is trying to control the position but Alan postures up. Alan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. DiazPerez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. DiazPerez is looking to stand up but Alan isn't so interested in that idea. Alan looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and DiazPerez dives on top into guard. DiazPerez trying to control but Alan is working from the bottom. Alan throws his legs up looking for a submission but DiazPerez uses it to pass to side control.
DiazPerez tries to score with some ground and pound. Alan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Alan is trying to improve his position. DiazPerez wants to control but Alan is keeping him busy. DiazPerez wants to stand but Alan has his arm trapped. DiazPerez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alan on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. DiazPerez controls the position. Alan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on DiazPerez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. DiazPerez wants to control but Alan is keeping him busy. Alan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of DiazPerez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take DiazPerez's back! DiazPerez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Alan gets his way!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alan is controlling the position but DiazPerez somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Alan thows a huge punch but DiazPerez dodges it nicely.
Alan trying to pass the guard but DiazPerez defending well. DiazPerez wants to get back to full guard. DiazPerez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alan is working away from the top position though.

Alan trying to control the position from guard on top but DiazPerez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. DiazPerez is looking to stand up but Alan isn't so interested in that idea. Alan postures up in DiazPerez's guard and throws a big left but DiazPerez blocks it. Alan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. DiazPerez is pulling down on Alan's head. It's preventing any offense from Alan, at least for the moment. DiazPerez trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Eric DiazPerez will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on James Alan's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
DiazPerez throws a head kick that misses. DiazPerez closes the distance and clinches. DiazPerez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alan smiles and moves away.
DiazPerez is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DiazPerez instigates a clinch. Alan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. DiazPerez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alan up against the cage. Alan looking for a takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. DiazPerez is trying to maintain a safe position but Alan gets an underhook and turns DiazPerez into the cage. DiazPerez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. DiazPerez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! DiazPerez shoots and misses and Alan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. DiazPerez manages to escape and get back to his feet! DiazPerez tries to clinch but Alan is having none of it. DiazPerez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alan to the mat! Alan manages to get full guard. DiazPerez won't allow Alan to sweep him here. Alan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but DiazPerez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Alan is looking for a triangle but DiazPerez pushes his legs off easily.
DiazPerez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alan had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. DiazPerez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take DiazPerez's back instead. Oooh a big shot gets through from Alan. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
DiazPerez looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Eric DiazPerez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alan working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but DiazPerez is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Alan has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! DiazPerez taps out!
