PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josef Dellal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bushido Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown has chosen Lights Please - J Cole as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josef Dellal!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bushido Brown!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Brown pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dellal is out of range and Brown settles back down.
Brown throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Brown tries to clinch but Dellal is having none of it.
Brown tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dellal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brown tries a head kick but it misses.
Brown is looking to clinch but Dellal is avoiding it.

Brown swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brown tries to work over Dellal's front leg with a kick but Dellal checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Brown scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Brown has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brown looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Dellal counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dellal goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brown has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dellal but great work by Brown.
Dellal is trying to improve his position.
Dellal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Dellal is controlling Brown's trapped leg to prevent Brown from advancing to side control.

Dellal moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dellal wants to sweep but no luck.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dellal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brown defends it nicely.
Dellal misses with a takedown attempt - Brown sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Brown crunches a lovely knee into Dellal's ribcage.
Brown creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dellal's defenses.


It looks like Josef Dellal has been cut.
Dellal looking for a takedown.

Brown crunches a lovely knee into Dellal's ribcage.
Dellal is breathing heavily.
Dellal tries for a takedown but Brown manages to get underhooks.

Brown throws a head kick that misses.
Dellal shoots in for a takedown but Brown shows good takedown defense.
Bushido Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dellal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Brown moves into range and clinches up with Dellal.
Brown throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Dellal tries to score a body lock takedown but Brown shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Brown lands a knee to the body.
Brown lands an elbow that stopped Dellal in his tracks for a moment.

Dellal is working for takedown but Brown is calmly controlling the position for now.
