Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Galvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Roumani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ali Roumani!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galvez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Roumani defends it nicely.
Roumani throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Galvez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Galvez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roumani throws out the jab.
Galvez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roumani as he jumps to the side.
Roumani defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Galvez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santiago Galvez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roumani scores with a jab to the jaw.
Horrible takedown attempt by Galvez or perhaps it was just good defense by Roumani, which made it look bad.

Galvez leaves Roumani with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Galvez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Galvez just content to control the position.
Roumani is looking to regain half guard here but Galvez keeps moving and retains side control.
Galvez is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Roumani will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Roumani has hold of Galvez's hands but Galvez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Galvez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Roumani throws a hook to the side of Galvez's head but Galvez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Galvez tries for a takedown but Roumani sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Galvez goes for a double leg but Roumani avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roumani continues to drive forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roumani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Galvez moves away.
Galvez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Galvez has a takedown stuffed.
Roumani misses with a straight right.
Roumani throws a body punch but Galvez moves out of range.
Ali Roumani seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Galvez fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Galvez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Roumani has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Roumani regains full guard. Nicely done.

Roumani is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Galvez is aware though and is defending well.
Galvez works over Roumani with some ground and pound from guard.
Galvez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Galvez.

Roumani is trying to control Galvez's posture but Galvez avoids it.
Galvez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Galvez creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Roumani is looking to regain half guard here but Galvez keeps moving and retains side control.
Galvez happy to just control the position for now.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Galvez.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Roumani's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roumani connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Galvez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Roumani quickly recovers to half guard.
Still in half guard, Galvez seems content to control.
Roumani is looking for a sweep. Galvez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Roumani throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Galvez escapes and throws Roumani's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Galvez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Roumani is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Galvez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Galvez's back!

Roumani is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Galvez defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
