Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abe Lincoln (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abe Lincoln has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gordon Maxwell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Abe Lincoln! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot by Maxwell. Lincoln fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Maxwell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lincoln moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Maxwell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gordon Maxwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lincoln shoots for a takedown but Maxwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lincoln moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Lincoln shoots in and drives through. Maxwell sprawls well. Gordon Maxwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abe Lincoln. Maxwell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A punch combination from Maxwell misses. Maxwell stuffs the takedown attempt from Lincoln. Lincoln gets slowly back to his feet. Lincoln ducks straight into an uppercut from Maxwell and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Lincoln maanges to regain guard straight away.
Lincoln is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Maxwell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lincoln's head. Lincoln is still in real trouble! Can Maxwell finish him? Maxwell tries to stand but Lincoln is controlling from the bottom. Lincoln has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maxwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lincoln seems to have recovered his senses. Maxwell thows a big elbow that misses. Maxwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maxwell avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lincoln working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maxwell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maxwell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lincoln looks gassed! Maxwell is working Lincoln over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Maxwell lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Lincoln tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lincoln keeping moving, preventing Maxwell from controlling successfully. Lincoln manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maxwell manages to get himself to full guard.
Lincoln prevents Maxwell from getting back to his feet. Maxwell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lincoln is one step ahead there. Lincoln is looking to work some ground and pound but Maxwell has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Maxwell has his foot on Lincoln's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lincoln works his way back into a safe position though. Maxwell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lincoln is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Maxwell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lincoln is controlling him. Lincoln looking to pass the guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Maxwell throws a series of punches but Lincoln moves out of range. Lincoln feints and as Maxwell raises his hands in defense, Lincoln changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Maxwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lincoln on the ground. Lincoln has gone for a leg lock! Maxwell slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lincoln's guard. Maxwell wants to pass the guard but Lincoln is keeping the position. Lincoln has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maxwell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Maxwell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maxwell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lincoln is proving hard to escape from. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maxwell trying to control the position from guard on top but Lincoln is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lincoln looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Maxwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Lincoln looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Maxwell is defending well. Lincoln quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Maxwell has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Lincoln celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
