Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Vaghi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrome Deiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deiger is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: We Ready. Ivan Vaghi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Vaghi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tyrome Deiger!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vaghi scores with a takedown into Deiger's guard.
Deiger throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Vaghi stands and steps away. Deiger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Vaghi is looking to score with low kicks.

Vaghi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Deiger tries to improve position but can't.

Vaghi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Deiger is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Vaghi advances nicely into full mount.
Vaghi wants to control the pace but Deiger is squirming around nicely.

Deiger tries to hold on but Vaghi postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Deiger tries to buck Vaghi off but he can't manage it.
Vaghi looking to control and managing it successfully.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ivan Vaghi just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Deiger tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Vaghi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vaghi lands in his opponent's guard.

Vaghi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Vaghi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vaghi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Vaghi wants to stand up but Deiger has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Deiger doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Vaghi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vaghi.

and Vaghi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Deiger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vaghi is one step ahead there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vaghi takes a little break here. Deiger wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Vaghi decides to stand back up. Vaghi steps back and let's Deiger get back to his feet.

and Vaghi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Deiger's guard.

Vaghi drops back looking for a leg! Deiger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deiger manages to kick Vaghi off! Vaghi jumps back into Deiger's guard.
Vaghi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Deiger throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vaghi escapes and throws Deiger's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Deiger takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Vaghi decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Vaghi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vaghi looks to land a combination but Deiger avoids it well.

and Vaghi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ivan Vaghi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyrome Deiger.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Ivan Vaghi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Vaghi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Deiger is looking to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Deiger keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Vaghi controlling the position easily from mount.
Vaghi prevents Deiger from getting the reversal.
Vaghi landing punches.
Deiger swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ivan Vaghi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vaghi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
