Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parfait Hilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hilton's choice of entrance music: The man in the moon is a newfie. Chad Griggs has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chad Griggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Parfait Hilton! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griggs misses with a hook. Hilton ducked under it nicely. Griggs looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Griggs makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Griggs showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Griggs won't allow Hilton to sweep him here. Griggs postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Griggs working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hilton's head. Hilton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griggs works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hilton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Griggs lands a nice short elbow. Hilton tries to get to full guard but Griggs has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griggs controlling the action here. Griggs has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hilton is pressing down on Griggs's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Griggs throws a strike but Hilton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hilton wants to control from the top but Griggs keeps moving. Griggs controlling Hilton's posture. Hilton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hilton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Griggs's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hilton trying to control the position from guard on top but Griggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hilton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griggs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hilton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Griggs is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Griggs is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hilton is looking to work some ground and pound but Griggs has wrist control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griggs has a takedown stuffed. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hilton. Hilton feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Griggs's calf. Hilton tries a head kick but it misses.
Griggs scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hilton in his tracks. Griggs scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Griggs on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hilton. Hilton obviously looking to wear him down.
A slow jab from Griggs misses its intended target. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Griggs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hilton defends it nicely. Hilton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Griggs. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Griggs. That's going to take a lot out of him. A thudding body kick lands there by Hilton!
Griggs is breathing heavily. Hilton keeps Griggs at a distance using the push kick. Hilton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Griggs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hilton moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griggs dodges the punch combination from Hilton.
Hilton lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Griggs throws a hook but Hilton blocks it. Griggs moves out of range of the body kick. Hilton thuds his shin into the meat of Griggs's side. Hilton connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Chad Griggs has been cut. Hilton is pawing at Griggs, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Griggs's nose. Griggs is badly hurt! Hilton pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Griggs tries desperately to hold on but Hilton is relentless in his assault! As Griggs receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Hilton away and this one is in the books!
