Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ueki Boku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Kalaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Kalaway has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ueki Boku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Kalaway!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ben Watson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalaway tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Boku counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kalaway fails to pull guard.
Kalaway is fighting off a takedown attempt but Boku is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kalaway to the mat. Kalaway regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kalaway working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boku doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boku manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Boku avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boku is working Kalaway over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boku lands a couple of digs.
Kalaway is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boku defends well.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boku's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boku slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boku definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Boku has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Boku's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Boku seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Boku drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boku jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Boku passes Kalaway's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kalaway is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boku pulls his head out easily.

Boku decides to stand up.

Kalaway moves to clinch but Boku breaks away
and Boku counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Boku seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kalaway looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Boku has picked Kalaway up and slammed him! Kalaway can't keep hold of the triangle and Boku manages to pass to side control!
Boku has an Americana. Kalaway didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Boku is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Boku hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ueki Boku!
