Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Sayers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Day!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sayers throws a body kick that misses.
Day slips under a jab from Sayers.
Sayers throws a jab but it's blocked by Day.
Sayers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Day.
Sayers misses with a combination

and Day counters with a shoot takedown. Sayers fights it but they end up in guard.
Sayers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Day controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sayers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Day is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day wants to control from the top but Sayers keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day content to stall in guard here.
Sayers keeping full guard, as Day tries to pass.
Sayers looking to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Day pushes down on Sayers's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sayers tries to get to full guard but Day has control of the leg.
Day slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sayers trying to control from the bottom.
Day performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Sayers wants to improve his position but Day is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sayers's head.
Day works his way into full mount!
Sayers tries to reverse the position but Day maintains control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Day trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Day moves to back control.

Day looking for the choke from the back.
Day thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Day has his arm under Sayers's chin here. Game over son! Day squeezes tightly and Sayers is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Day!
Nick Day spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
