Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Louis Beck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gharard Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3C-k_3dcfNY kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Louis Beck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gharard Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beck sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Beck wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diaz in particular looking to stall.
Beck is looking to escape.
Diaz controlling the action here.
Beck is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diaz is working for a kimura but Beck is defending it quite comfortably.

My spies in Cozad MMA Rio inform me that Diaz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Beck escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Beck looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Beck looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Beck!

Beck will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Beck enables Diaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Beck manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
