Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladmir Volchenkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Kolof (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladmir Volchenkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kolof!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kolof checks a leg kick.
Kolof has a takedown stuffed.
Kolof tries to clinch up.
Kolof shoots in for a takedown but Volchenkov shows good takedown defense.
Kolof fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Vladmir Volchenkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Kolof.
No joy there for Kolof, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Volchenkov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ivan Kolof seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Volchenkov shoots in and bounces Kolof off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Volchenkov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Volchenkov pushes down on Kolof's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Volchenkov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Still in half guard, Volchenkov seems content to control.
Kolof throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Kolof is pressing down on Volchenkov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Volchenkov won't allow Kolof to get back to his feet.
Volchenkov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Volchenkov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kolof is trying to keep Volchenkov in close.

Kolof manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Volchenkov manages to get himself to full guard.
Volchenkov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Volchenkov tries to get out of the position.
Kolof would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Volchenkov is looking for a triangle but Kolof pushes his legs off easily.

Volchenkov has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kolof off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Volchenkov scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Volchenkov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kolof does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kolof tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Volchenkov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kolof is just riding it out for now. Volchenkov eventually gives up the hold.
Kolof manages to get to full guard.
Volchenkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Kolof is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kolof wants to sweep here but Volchenkov controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kolof gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Volchenkov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kolof looks like he's trying to stand up.
Volchenkov is looking to take a break and control but Kolof is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Volchenkov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kolof is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kolof pushes Volchenkov off and gets back to his feet.

Volchenkov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Volchenkov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kolof to the mat! Kolof manages to get full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Volchenkov wants to pass the guard but Kolof is keeping the position.
Volchenkov won't allow Kolof to sweep him here.
Vladmir Volchenkov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kolof lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Volchenkov!
Kolof throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Volchenkov tries to hold on but Kolof pushes him away.
A nice elbow there by Kolof.
Kolof with shots to the head and body - Volchenkov looks very uncomfortable down there.
Kolof avoids the attempt from Volchenkov to control.
Kolof is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Volchenkov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Volchenkov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Kolof wants to stand but Volchenkov has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Kolof moves into full mount! Volchenkov won't be happy about that!
Volchenkov regains half guard.
Volchenkov throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Kolof is trying for a kimura here. Volchenkov looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kolof wins by kimura!
