Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Bright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Atir Hullez!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hullez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hullez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hullez fails to land with a series of punches.
Hullez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hullez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hullez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bright.

Hullez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bright is doing well to control the position and prevent Hullez from advancing to side control.
Bright is in trouble now - Hullez has advanced to mount!
Bright tries to hold on but Hullez pushes him away.

Bright holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hullez tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bright bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Hullez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bright presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hullez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bright clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Bright tries to escape the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hullez's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Hullez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Bright breaks Hullez's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hullez controls Bright momentarily but Bright frees himself.
Bright will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bright throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hullez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Bright trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hullez is looking for a triangle but Bright pushes his legs off easily.
Hullez looks winded!

Bright stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Hullez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hullez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hullez tries to advance position but instead Bright slips a leg back in to half guard.
Bright is trying is best to control the position here.

Hullez wants to get back to his feet.
Bright is not content to let Hullez control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atir Hullez dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hullez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bright wants to improve his position but Hullez is controlling well.
Hullez is looking to stall here but Bright recovers full guard.
Hullez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bright looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hullez's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hullez is looking to stand up but Bright won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bright is trying to keep Hullez in close.

Hullez stands up from Bright's guard - Hullez perhaps looking for a knockout.
Bright slips a jab and a cross from Hullez.
Hullez is breathing heavily.
Hullez misses with a double jab

and Bright counters with a takedown into side control.
Hullez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Bright is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Bright is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hullez is surviving well by controlling Bright's body position as best he can.

Hullez is bucking up trying to escape but Bright cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Hullez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bright thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Hullez wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Bright has hold of Hullez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hullez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bright lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hullez hang on?
You get the feeling that Hullez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hullez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Bright working for a guillotine from mount but Hullez is in no mood to give up.

Hullez is trying to escape the mount.
Bright landing shots from mount.
Bright with a couple of short strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hullez is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Bright has taken his back!
Bright really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bright has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Hullez is in real trouble here. Bright gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Hullez is tapping out! Bright wins by rear naked choke!
