Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ahmad Salinas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcio Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcio Araujo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Salinas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Araujo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Salinas has Araujo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Araujo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Araujo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Salinas after a bit of a struggle.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Araujo is trying to push Salinas away but Salinas has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Salinas is fighting off a takedown attempt but Araujo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Salinas to the mat. Salinas regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Araujo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Araujo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Salinas wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Araujo misses with a takedown attempt
and Salinas moves into the clinch.
Araujo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Salinas counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Araujo swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Araujo jumps guard but Salinas stands there with Araujo around his waist. Araujo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Salinas dives in and grabs Araujo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Araujo pushes down on Salinas's head and hops out.

Araujo gets caught flat footed, as Salinas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Araujo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Salinas stacks Araujo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Salinas!

and Salinas counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Araujo is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Salinas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Araujo can do to turn this around?
Salinas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Araujo.

and Salinas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Araujo has momentary wrist control but Salinas slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Araujo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Salinas's waist but Salinas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Araujo off to one side.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Araujo tries to pull guard but Salinas won't allow it.

Salinas turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Salinas manages to end up in side control.

Salinas seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Araujo for as long as he can get away with.
Ahmad Salinas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Salinas looks up at the clock and then as Araujo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Salinas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
A lull in the action here as Salinas stalls from top position.
Salinas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Araujo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Salinas is staying tight to Araujo's torso, preventing him from escaping.

You can see the frustration on Araujo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Araujo wants to get back to his feet but Salinas is dominant here and he's now got Araujo's back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The referee is taking a good look at Araujo as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Salinas!

Salinas is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Araujo knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Araujo for a finish.
You can see the frustration on Araujo's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Salinas controlling the position well here. Araujo rolled but Salinas kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
