PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rama Udo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Minoru Minami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minami has chosen No Easy Way Out as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rama Udo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Minoru Minami!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Udo. Those never looked like landing.
Udo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Udo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Minami moves to clinch but Udo breaks away
letting Udo counter with a right hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Minami is defended easily by Udo.
Minoru Minami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Udo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Udo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Minami keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Minami bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Minami fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rama Udo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Minoru Minami.

Udo stuffs the takedown.
Udo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Minami tries for a takedown but Udo circles away easily
and Udo counters with a slapping leg kick.
Rama Udo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Udo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Udo throws a leg kick which misses Minami's front leg but catches the back leg as Minami tries to avoid it.
Udo avoids the head kick by Minami.
Udo tries to bum rush Minami with a series of wild strikes but Minami uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Udo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Udo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Udo ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Udo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Udo tests Minami's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Udo misses with a series of wild punches.
Minami will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Minami scores with a three punch combo!
Minami walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Udo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Udo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Minami's head.
Minami misses with a low kick as Udo jumps back.
Udo scores with a nice strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Minami takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Minami misses with a takedown attempt
and Udo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Udo thuds his right hand into Minami's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Udo lands with a good body shot.
Minami takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Udo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Udo scores with a jab to the head.
Udo cracks the inside of Minami's front leg.
Minami tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Udo to counter with a crisp jab.
Minami tries to clinch up but Udo circles away and keeps his distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Udo lands a jab-cross combination.


Minami is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Udo throws a poor cross that misses
and Minami counters with a head kick.
Minami is still on wobbly legs! Can Udo finish him?
Minami slips a straight right by Udo.
Minami seems to have recovered his senses.
Minami throws a sloppy head kick and Udo moves out of range easily.
Good work by Udo as he checks the leg kick.
Minami takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Udo lands a jab.
Minami throws a sloppy head kick and Udo moves out of range easily.
Udo fails to land with a series of punches.
Udo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Udo jabs at Minami's body.
Minami throws a lazy head kick
and Udo counters with a left to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rama Udo dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Minami tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Minami throws a nice head kick!
Udo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Minami might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Udo has got the better of the exchanges.
Nice uppercut there from Udo.
Udo throws a series of punches but Minami avoids them all with ease.
Udo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Udo, as that shot connected.
Minami stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Udo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Minami closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Udo lands with a left to the head.
Udo digs a right hand underneath Minami's ribcage. Minami let out a lung full of air as it connected.
A nice right hand lands inside from Udo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Udo creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Minami's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Minami drops to his knees and Udo pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rama Udo!
