Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone has chosen Pantera 5 Minutes Alone as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown but Stone shows good takedown defense.
Jacobs fails to land the takedown.
Stone fails to land with a series of punches.
Jacobs tries to close the distance and clinch but Stone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jacobs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stone pinned against the cage. Stone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Jacobs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stone as he avoids it easily.
Stone throws a hook but Jacobs blocks it.
Stone stuns Jacobs with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

It looks like Steve Stone has been cut.
Good leg kick by Stone there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Steve Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Jacobs counters with a good low kick that Stone was not able to check.
Jacobs is breathing heavily.

Stone moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jacobs just misses with a elbow thrown towards Stone's brow.

Stone lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Stone rushes Jacobs and presses him up against the cage.

Stone fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jacobs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Stone lunges at Jacobs with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jacobs's hand.

Stone loads up on a big right hand but Jacobs slips the punch.

Stone forces Jacobs back against the cage and clinches.

Stone scores with a one two! Jacobs had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Jimmy Jacobs has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stone throws a right hand that Jacobs ducks under and follows up with a left that Jacobs also avoids with ease.

Stone feints and then cracks Jacobs's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jacobs down.

Stone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Jacobs holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Jacobs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stone just stands there and leans against the cage.

and Jacobs decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stone's guard.
Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Stone has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jacobs off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Jacobs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jacobs off to one side.

Jacobs decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stone, up you get!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Stone in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
