PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between You Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down comes to the cage accompanied by st. anger. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gray is trying hard to land a takedown here. Down sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gray rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Down counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gray is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Gray misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Down counters with a three punch combo that has Gray backing up. Gray nods at Down to acknowledge the strikes.

and Down counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Gray tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gray takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Down tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Down has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gray tries to close the distance and clinch but Down swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gray looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Down is fending him off so far but Gray persists. Nope, Down circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gray lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Gray got a little sloppy there for a moment and Down has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gray has managed to get both his arms back between Down's legs - danger averted.

Gray seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gray in particular looking to stall.
