Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Neidhart! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neidhart throws a lazy uppercut
and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Neidhart lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Williams throws a hook but Neidhart blocks it. Williams is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Williams scores with a crisp jab that stopped Neidhart in his tracks. Williams defending well as Neidhart loads up on a big left hand. Neidhart throws a big shot that misses. Williams tries to bum rush Neidhart with a series of wild strikes but Neidhart uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A jab lands there for Neidhart. Williams connects with a leg kick. Neidhart looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Neidhart misses with a lunging right hand
and Williams counters with a stiff right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Neidhart slips under a jab from Williams. Neidhart pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Neidhart on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Neidhart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neidhart misses with a straight right. Williams uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Neidhart.
Williams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Neidhart lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A swing and a miss from Neidhart. Williams connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Neidhart connects with a solid leg kick. Williams lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Neidhart is rocked! A big right from Neidhart misses. Neidhart gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Neidhart is still on wobbly legs! Can Williams finish him? Thomas Neidhart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Neidhart throws a jab but it's blocked by Williams. Williams moves away from the strike by Neidhart. A combination from Neidhart does no damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Neidhart! Williams dives in looking to finish! Neidhart is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Williams! A very excited looking Ben Williams made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
