Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jayson Frank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cokorda Raka! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Raka tries to bum rush Frank with a series of wild strikes but Frank uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cokorda Raka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Raka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Frank is rocked! Raka forces Frank back against the cage and clinches. Oh Frank is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Frank working hard to break the clinch. Raka controlling the action here for a moment.
Raka has Frank pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Frank manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Raka blocks an uppercut.
Frank is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Raka is defending well for now. Frank managing to block the knees to the body from Raka.
Raka successfully pulls guard.
Raka bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frank's guard.
Raka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Frank can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Raka controls the pace. Raka gets to his feet. Frank looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Frank gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Frank tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Raka is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Frank buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Frank!! Frank is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Raka throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cokorda Raka!
