Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Fergers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory OReilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fergers comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin' Park - Waiting for the End. Rory OReilly will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dean Fergers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rory OReilly!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from OReilly is defended easily by Fergers.

Fergers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. OReilly was covering up waiting for the punch and Fergers finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fergers wants to control from the top but OReilly keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OReilly not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fergers is stalling in the full guard.

OReilly takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
OReilly misses with a takedown attempt - Fergers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fergers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of OReilly's head.
Fergers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. OReilly swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OReilly manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fergers on his heels. He'll look to pass Fergers's guard now, I'm sure.

We've been hearing that Fergers has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fergers is nestled in close to OReilly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
OReilly wants to get back to his feet.

Fergers is looking to pass into half guard but OReilly pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now OReilly is in guard.

Fergers has his foot on OReilly's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. OReilly works his way back into a safe position though.

OReilly shoots in for a takedown but Fergers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Fergers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
