Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vince Paul! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul shoots in looking for a takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl out of it but Paul keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gracie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gracie throws a hook but Paul avoids it easily. Paul with a lazy takedown attempt and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Paul is trying to control but can't.
Paul is looking to improve his position.
Paul keeps trying to improve his position. Paul is not content to let Gracie control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.

Paul is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Paul is defending well.
Gracie wants to take a breather but Paul is having none of it. Paul is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Paul for as long as he can get away with.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paul moves into range and clinches up with Gracie. Gracie is looking for a takedown. Paul tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gracie smiles and moves away.
Jose Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Paul. Paul shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie gets the takedown into side control. Paul is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Gracie throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Gracie works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie tries to advance to mount but can't. Gracie advances to mount. Paul is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paul is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. Paul is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Paul to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Paul shrugs it off. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie landing strikes from the mount and Paul is in trouble! Gracie with the ground and pound from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Gracie dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Paul rushes Gracie and presses him up against the cage. Paul controlling the action here for a moment.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Gracie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Paul can do to turn this around? Paul gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gracie.
Paul tries to pull guard but Gracie won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul jumps guard but Gracie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gracie is trying to drag Paul to the mat but Paul just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Paul dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Paul after a bit of a struggle. Paul changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gracie fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Paul takes the fight into the clinch. Paul tries to land knees in the clinch but Gracie avoids the damage to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A short left from Paul. Paul jumps into guard, dragging Gracie to the mat.
Gracie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Gracie throws a big elbow that misses. Paul wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Paul is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie won't allow Paul to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gracie content to stall in guard here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gracie fails to land the takedown. Gracie stuffs the takedown. Paul looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Paul persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing. Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gracie moves into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie controlling from mount. Paul is trying desperately to improve position. Paul is breathing heavily. Gracie punching from mount but Paul doing a good job of avoiding damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie looking to finish Paul with some ground and pound. This is bad for Paul! Gracie misses with a head shot. Gracie landing punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Gracie dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Gracie turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Paul tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracie paws at him with a jab and circles away. Paul with a poor takedown and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Paul won't be happy with that. Gracie trying to control the position but Paul is working away. Paul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Paul struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Paul has escaped the position, nice work there. Gracie trying to control the position but Paul is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie staying calm. Gracie tries for a kimura but Paul is defending well. Gracie looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Paul is avoiding damage well.
Paul manages to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Paul! It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gracie here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Gracie goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Paul is on top in guard.
Paul must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Paul should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Paul should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
