Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Burton Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre has chosen Legion Etranger as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Pierre.
Lawson swats away the attempt to clinch by Pierre.
Lawson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pierre.
Pierre plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Lawson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lawson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lawson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pierre's half guard.

Pierre throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lawson was covering up waiting for the punch and Pierre finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pierre is looking to stand up but Lawson isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A nice leg kick lands there from Pierre.
That kick from Pierre tenderised Lawson's leg. Lawson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Pierre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lawson doesn't manage to clinch there - Pierre circles away.
Pierre wants to slow Lawson down by chopping away at his legs.

Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lawson shoots in for a takedown but Pierre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jean Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lawson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pierre quickly recovers to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lawson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pierre's waist but Pierre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lawson off to one side.
