Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Burton Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre has chosen Legion Etranger as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Burton Lawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jean Pierre! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slapping leg kick lands for Pierre.
Lawson swats away the attempt to clinch by Pierre. Lawson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pierre. Pierre plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Lawson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lawson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lawson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pierre's half guard. Lawson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pierre's head. Lawson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pierre is defending against the submission attempts here by Lawson.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre pushes Lawson off looking to stand but Lawson dives back in and keeps control.
Pierre really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pierre is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lawson scores with a couple of nice shots. Pierre tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lawson manages to move to mount!
Pierre is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lawson thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Pierre is trying to stand. Pierre is squirming around, avoiding Lawson's attempts to control the action. Lawson landing strikes from the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lawson looking for a guillotine from mount but Pierre is having none of it. Pierre is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lawson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Lawson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pierre hang on? Lawson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Lawson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pierre can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lawson misses with a head shot. Pierre is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lawson looking for a guillotine from mount but Pierre is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lawson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pierre has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burton Lawson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pierre throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lawson was covering up waiting for the punch and Pierre finishes the takedown easily into guard. Pierre looking to sit in guard and control but Lawson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Pierre is looking to stand up but Lawson isn't so interested in that idea. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lawson landing with the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lawson is standing up over Pierre. Pierre looks to escape but Lawson dives into side control.
Lawson stands up. Lawson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pierre is fending him off so far but Lawson persists. Nope, Pierre circles away and we're back to standing. Pierre closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A shot in the inside from Pierre. Lawson missing with knees to the body.
Pierre's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lawson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Pierre. That kick from Pierre tenderised Lawson's leg. Lawson is trying to keep his angry face on. Pierre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lawson doesn't manage to clinch there - Pierre circles away.
Pierre wants to slow Lawson down by chopping away at his legs. Pierre lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lawson's sensitive parts. Pierre throws a one two combo.
Pierre is breathing heavily. Pierre pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lawson just misses with a punch to the body.
Pierre throws a series of punches but Lawson moves out of range. Lawson avoids the head kick by Pierre.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawson shoots in for a takedown but Pierre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pierre moves in looking to clinch but Lawson pushes him off. Jean Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lawson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pierre.
Lawson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pierre quickly recovers to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lawson throwing shots but Pierre is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lawson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Lawson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pierre defends it well. Pierre wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jean Pierre will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Lawson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pierre's waist but Pierre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lawson off to one side. Lawson throws a sloppy head kick and Pierre moves out of range easily. Pierre misses with a head kick.

It looks like Burton Lawson has been cut. Lawson throws a series of punches but Pierre moves out of range. Pierre throws a head kick that half lands.
Lawson is rocked! Lawson is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Pierre Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Lawson is out cold, face down on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jean Pierre! An out of breath Jean Pierre thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
