Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Spike Jonez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Greywar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jamie Greywar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Spike Jonez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamie Greywar! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jonez gets caught flat footed, as Greywar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Greywar wants to pass the guard but Jonez is keeping the position. Greywar sitting in guard, not really doing much. Greywar looking to pass the guard. Greywar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Greywar trying to control the position from guard on top but Jonez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Greywar controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Greywar wants to control from the top but Jonez keeps moving. Jonez keeping full guard, as Greywar tries to pass.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Greywar throws a head kick but Jonez moves out of range.
Greywar scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jonez is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jonez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jonez is looking to escape. Greywar passes to side control. Jonez is letting Greywar control him for a moment. Greywar is trying to move to mount but Jonez reverses beautifully and ends up in Greywar's guard. Jonez wants to get up but he can't break Greywar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Greywar wants to sweep here but Jonez controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Greywar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Greywar scores with a takedown into Jonez's guard. Jonez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jonez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jonez throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Greywar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Greywar has gone for a leg lock! Jonez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Greywar's guard. Jonez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jonez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jonez won't allow Greywar to sweep him here. Greywar trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Greywar tries to land a sweep but no joy. Greywar is controlling Jonez's posture. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Greywar can do anything to dispel that myth. Greywar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Greywar controls Jonez momentarily but Jonez frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Greywar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Greywar has his foot on Jonez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jonez works his way back into a safe position though. Jonez wants to get up but he can't break Greywar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jonez is breathing heavily. Greywar working for a triangle but Jonez defends it easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Greywar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Greywar stops Jonez from getting back to his feet.

Greywar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Greywar looking to pass the guard. Jonez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Greywar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jonez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Greywar's back instead. Greywar trying to control the position but Jonez manages to sink in the hooks. Greywar tries to escape but Jonez has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jonez looking for the choke but no joy. Greywar turns into Jonez and is now in his guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Greywar throws a quick inside leg kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Greywar. That's going to slow Jonez down. Greywar gets the takedown into side control. Greywar throws an elbow but Jonez slips to the side and avoids it well. Greywar scoring with punches and elbows. Greywar tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Greywar taking a breather here. Greywar throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Greywar tries for a kimura but Jonez is defending well. Jonez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Greywar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Greywar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jonez taking a bit of punishment here - Greywar scoring with strikes. Jonez tries to bench press Greywar off him but Greywar keeps the position. Greywar content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Greywar tries to advance to mount but can't. Greywar tries for a kimura but Jonez is defending well.

Jonez is looking to regain half guard here but Greywar keeps moving and retains side control. Greywar in side control, throwing shots but Jonez defends. Jonez trying to remain calm as Greywar controls from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamie Greywar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Jonez shoots in but Greywar avoids the takedown attempt easily. Greywar pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jonez thows a left - swing and a miss! Jonez takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Jonez avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jonez takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Greywar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Greywar passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Jonez! Greywar controlling from the full mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Greywar goes for an armbar but Jonez turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jonez. Greywar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jonez preventing the sweep. Greywar looking for a guillotine here but Jonez defends easily.
Jonez wants to stand but Greywar has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Greywar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jonez is one step ahead there. Greywar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jonez's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Greywar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jonez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Greywar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Greywar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Greywar pushes down on Jonez's leg and manages to get into half guard. Greywar is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Jonez has managed to free his arm - good work. Greywar is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Jonez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Greywar.

Greywar throws an elbow but Jonez slips to the side and avoids it well. Spike Jonez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jamie Greywar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Greywar avoids the strikes from the bottom by Jonez.
And that's the end of the fight! Jamie Greywar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Greywar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
