The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aguilar is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Del Rio has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aguilar is looking for a sweep.

Aguilar is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Del Rio asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Del Rio wants to finish this one by submission but Aguilar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Del Rio.

Del Rio is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Del Rio passes Aguilar's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Del Rio postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Aguilar to stand up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Both fighters circling a little - Del Rio finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Del Rio closes the distance and clinches.

Aguilar gets control of Del Rio's arms and successfully pulls guard. Aguilar will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Julio Del Rio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
