Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Star Dust (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Janus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dust comes to the cage accompanied by Die for Metal. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Star Dust!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hugh Janus!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janus tries to clinch but Dust moves away

and Dust counters with a shoot takedown. Janus fights it but they end up in guard.
We've been hearing that Dust has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Dust postures up and lands a big shot to Janus's brow.
Janus keeping moving, preventing Dust from controlling successfully.
Dust working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Janus pushes Dust off and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dust is looking to slow Janus down with leg kicks.
Dust shoots for a double leg takedown but Janus sprawls well. He's pushed Dust's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Janus drives through and clinches with Dust against the cage.

Janus throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dust blocks it with crossed arms.
Dust has had enough of the clinch but Janus keeps him there for the moment.

Dust pulls Janus into guard.

Janus decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dust, up you get!
Dust keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dust avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Janus tries to clinch but Dust is having none of it.

Janus wants to clinch.
Janus tries to clinch there but Dust circles away.
Janus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dust paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Janus tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dust counters with a takedown into side control.

Dust tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Janus on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dust is looking to take a break and control but Janus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dust has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Janus takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Dust will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dust lands an elbow.
Dust takes a little break here. Janus wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Janus takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Dust scoring with punches from side control.
Janus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dust. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dust tries to score with some ground and pound. Janus controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Janus is trying to buck Dust off.
Dust cracks Janus with a big right hand but Janus just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Dust is trying to get an arm triangle but Janus is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Janus can do anything to dispel that myth.
Janus is not content to let Dust control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Star Dust dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A lazy left from Dust finds it's target.
Dust tries to score a power double leg takedown but Janus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dust somewhat.
Janus tries to close the distance and clinch but Dust swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dust lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Dust throws a hook but Janus blocks it.
Dust lands a leg kick that knocks Janus off balance momentarily.
Janus moves in looking to clinch but Dust pushes him off.
Janus tries to clinch but Dust moves out of range.
Janus is looking to clinch.

Dust misses with a straight right.
Janus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dust swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Janus tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dust counters with a takedown into side control.
Janus is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dust is controlling him well.

Dust goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Janus has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dust but great work by Janus.
Janus tries to stand but Dust is controlling his head.
Dust is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Janus's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Dust moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Janus wants to stand but Dust has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Dust looking for a sweep. Not yet Dust, not yet.
Janus wants to stand but Dust is controlling his posture from full guard.

Dust working for a triangle but Janus defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Janus wanted to stand there but Dust had control of the position.
Dust working a defensive guard here.

Dust is looking for a triangle but Janus pushes his legs off easily.

Dust is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dust looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Janus is defending well. Dust quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Janus has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dust celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Star Dust!
After winning the bout, Star Dust thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
