Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karl Stranne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nix has chosen Gorilla Militia by Bliss n Eso as his entrance music. Joey Nix is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joey Nix!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stranne walks into a stiff left hand from Nix.
Nix misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stranne.
Stranne misses with a right hand
and Nix counters with a single leg into guard. Stranne didn't expect that.
Nix trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Nix works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nix wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stranne keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stranne throws a poor cross that misses
and Nix counters with a shoot takedown. Stranne fights it but they end up in guard.
Nix loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Stranne can't keep his opponent in guard - Nix advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Nix is looking to advance position but Stranne won't allow it.

Nix is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stranne knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nix misses with an uppercut. Stranne saw that one coming.

Stranne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nix on the ground.

Stranne is looking to regain half guard here but Nix keeps moving and retains side control.
Nix wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stranne keeps working.
Nix tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Stranne avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nix.

Stranne prevents Nix from improving position.
Nix swings around for an armbar but Stranne sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nix's guard.
Nix is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stranne is aware though and is defending well.
Nix throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Nix manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stranne manages to get himself to full guard.

Nix seems to be looking for submissions.

Joey Nix showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Stranne's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Nix swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Nix takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Stranne cracks the inside of Nix's front leg.
Nix moves out of range of the strikes.
Stranne connects with a leg kick. Nix looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Nix can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stranne is looking to escape.
Nix misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Stranne defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Nix.
Stranne is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Nix has taken his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stranne is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Nix.

Nix slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
