PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jared Kincaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archie Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stewart is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Frightened Rabbit - The Twist. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Jared Kincaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Archie Stewart!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stewart scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kincaid doesn't seem bothered though.
Kincaid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kincaid walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kincaid really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kincaid moves into the clinch.

Kincaid decides to pull guard.
Kincaid is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kincaid has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Stewart is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Stewart lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kincaid tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stewart smiles and moves away.
Stewart's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kincaid connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Stewart scrambles back to his feet.
Kincaid has been working on his boxing with his coaches at English Top Team in the buildup to the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kincaid has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kincaid wants to get back to striking at distance but Stewart won't allow it.
Stewart digs a right hand into Kincaid's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kincaid's gas tank.
Kincaid comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Kincaid jumps guard and drags Stewart to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kincaid wants to stand and escape but Stewart is having none of it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stewart's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stewart postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Stewart with a nice head shot there.
Stewart sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kincaid's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stewart uses his free foot to push down on Kincaid's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kincaid.
Stewart throws a strike there. Kincaid manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Kincaid looks like he's trying to stand up.

Stewart is trying to control the action in half guard but Kincaid is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kincaid is looking to escape.
Stewart landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kincaid wants to get back to his feet.
Kincaid avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stewart.
Kincaid won't allow Stewart to pass to mount.
Kincaid is refusing to be controlled, as Stewart sits in half guard.

Kincaid tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stewart paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stewart fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kincaid avoids it really well and circles away.
Kincaid goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Kincaid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stewart manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kincaid.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Stewart lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Kincaid is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Donk. Kincaid catches Stewart right on the button with a cross.

Stewart with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kincaid to score with a decent uppercut.

Kincaid tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stewart paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A left lands for Kincaid.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kincaid tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stewart avoids it.

Stewart lands a nice uppercut.
Kincaid creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Stewart's defenses.
Kincaid blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kincaid has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Still in the clinch, Stewart scores with a nice short uppercut.
Stewart dodges an elbow strike from Kincaid.
Kincaid jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stewart walks away with a smile on his face. Kincaid gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Stewart drops his hands momentarily and Kincaid takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Stewart gets a clinch.
Kincaid misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Stewart.
Stewart tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kincaid tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stewart smiles and moves away.
Kincaid's corner calls for a 1-2. Kincaid obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Stewart tries to keep at a distance but Kincaid has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jared Kincaid. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Archie Stewart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stewart throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kincaid tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stewart is in Kincaid's guard.

Kincaid is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stewart is controlling him.

Kincaid pushes Stewart off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kincaid is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Kincaid cracks Stewart with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Stewart misses with a body kick.
Kincaid looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Kincaid throws a head kick that misses.
Stewart tries to clinch up but Kincaid circles away and keeps his distance.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kincaid lands with a kick to the temple. Stewart shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Stewart turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stewart manages to end up in side control.

Kincaid parries the strikes from Stewart easily there. Stewart is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kincaid to escape.

Stewart works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
