Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cody Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a head kick that misses.
Ross moves out of range of the body kick.
Ross throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Ross shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wilson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ross is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilson has wrist control.
Wilson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Wilson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ross controls the pace.
Ross's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Wilson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ross puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson wants to sweep but Ross has passed to side control!

Ross is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wilson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wilson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ross wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wilson keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wilson is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson parries the strikes from Ross easily there. Ross is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Wilson to escape.
Wilson is trying to work for a sweep but Ross has mounted him!
Ross looking to control but Wilson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Ross controlling the pace for now.

Ross looking for a guillotine from mount but Wilson is having none of it.
Wilson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ross avoids the attempt from Wilson to control.

Ross has hold of Wilson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wilson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Wilson tries to lock up and control but Ross gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ross throws some wild stikes that Wilson manages to avoid easily.
Wilson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ross content just to control the position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ross seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wilson for as long as he can get away with.
Wilson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Ross tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Ross bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Wilson's head backwards.
Wilson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Nick Ross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ross is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around?

Ross sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Ross is taking a breather. Wilson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Wilson wants to get back to full guard but Ross has mounted him!

Ross is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Wilson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Wilson shrugs it off.
Wilson tries to reverse the position but Ross maintains control.

Ross content to control rather than advance.
Wilson is staying active underneath Ross, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Ross prevents Wilson from improving his position.
Nick Ross overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ross, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
