Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frenchy Fuqua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Simmons might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sound of MAdness - Shinedown. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fuqua tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Simmons is in Fuqua's guard.
Fuqua is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Simmons in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Simmons trying to control but Fuqua is working from the bottom.
Simmons throws a big elbow that misses.
Simmons missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
We've been hearing that Simmons has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simmons pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fuqua is keeping the position for now.
Fuqua wants to sweep but no luck.
Simmons cracks Fuqua with a solid left hand.

Simmons with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fuqua to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like John Simmons has been cut.

Fuqua's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Fuqua's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Simmons shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fuqua pinned against the cage. Fuqua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Simmons. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Simmons slips a jab from Fuqua.
Fuqua throws a chopping leg kick but Simmons manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Frenchy Fuqua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Simmons misses with an uppercut. Fuqua saw that one coming.
Fuqua ducks under a wild hook from Simmons.
Simmons lands a right hook to the body.
Fuqua stuffs the takedown.
Fuqua scores with a leg kick.
John Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simmons looks to land a left hand but Fuqua moved out of range nicely.
Fuqua slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Fuqua cracks Simmons with a big right hand and Simmons goes down!

Fuqua is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Oh Simmons is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fuqua passes Simmons's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Simmons wants to get back to full guard.
Fuqua lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Simmons! More strikes land and this one is all over! Fuqua jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frenchy Fuqua!
Frenchy Fuqua decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
