Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Javier Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axl Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose has chosen You Could Be Mine as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez misses with a body punch
and Rose counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alvarez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Rose tries to land a leg kick but Alvarez saw it coming and moves away.
Rose throws a leg kick but Alvarez checks it.
Rose clinches up against the cage.
Rose struggles to land a body shot inside as Alvarez controls his hands.
Rose can't find room to land a body shot as Alvarez controls the action.
Rose lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Javier Alvarez has been cut.
Alvarez lands an uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rose.
Rose misses with a knee to the head.
Rose avoids a wild elbow strike from Alvarez.
Alvarez wants to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rose manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Rose breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rose tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rose throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alvarez on the side of the head.
Alvarez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rose.
Rose lands a really nice looking cross but Alvarez seems unphased.
No joy there for Alvarez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alvarez throws a shot from downtown. Rose moves away and avoids it.
Rose throws a looping overhand right but Alvarez ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez ducks under a wild hook from Rose.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rose takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Good exchange - Rose coming out on top.
Alvarez is rocked!
Rose digs a good body shot into Alvarez's ribs.
Oh Alvarez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rose lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Alvarez is breathing heavily.
Rose with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A good leg kick by Rose.
Alvarez drops his hands momentarily. Rose doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Alvarez staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Alvarez doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Axl Rose!
