Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Hallava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caesar's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, How do you gauge Caesar?. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Julius Hallava was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gaius Julius Caesar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julius Hallava! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hallava throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Hallava swinging wildly here.
Caesar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Caesar trying to control the pace. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hallava can do anything to dispel that myth. Caesar decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caesar fails to land the takedown. Caesar shoots and misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Caesar looks to score with a jab to the body but Hallava is just out of range. Caesar doesn't manage to clinch there - Hallava circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Caesar does it's job there. Hallava throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Caesar tries to clinch but Hallava is having none of it. Caesar dives in for a single leg takedown but Hallava sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gaius Julius Caesar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hallava prevents the takedown attempt.
Hallava is defending well against a takedown attempt. Caesar tries to pull guard but Hallava holds him up against the cage and eventually Caesar drops back down to his feet.

Caesar is trying to drag Hallava to the mat but Hallava just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hallava pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Hallava misses the target. Hallava fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Caesar blocks a leg kick. Hallava with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Caesar looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Caesar prevents Hallava from getting back to his feet. Caesar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Caesar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hallava's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caesar stands up and beckons Hallava to join him on the feet. Caesar throws a series of punches but Hallava avoids them all with ease. Caesar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Caesar checks a leg kick nicely. Hallava tries to sprawl but Caesar drives through with a takedown into half guard. Caesar controlling the action here. Caesar decides to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hallava misses with a two punch combination.
Caesar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Caesar moves into the clinch. Caesar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Caesar misses with a wild combination.
Caesar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Caesar lands in his opponent's guard. Caesar controls the pace of the fight for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gaius Julius Caesar dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Caesar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hallava can do to turn this around? Hallava scores with a shot to the body.
Caesar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hallava sprawls well. Hallava wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Caesar gets slowly back to his feet. Caesar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gaius Julius Caesar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Caesar not landing any meaningful shots this time. Still in half guard, Caesar seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caesar gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Caesar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Caesar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hallava to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caesar looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hallava can't keep his opponent in guard - Caesar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Caesar thows a huge punch but Hallava dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hallava tries to buck Caesar off but he can't manage it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caesar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hallava is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Caesar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Caesar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caesar avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gaius Julius Caesar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Caesar dives in and grabs Hallava's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hallava pushes down on Caesar's head and hops out. Hallava throws a right hand that Caesar ducks under and follows up with a left that Caesar also avoids with ease. Caesar keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hallava displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Caesar. Caesar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gaius Julius Caesar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Caesar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Caesar scores with a takedown into Hallava's guard. Caesar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caesar stands up from Hallava's guard - Caesar perhaps looking for a knockout. Hallava pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Caesar back to the cage. Hallava follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Caesar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hallava throws a series of punches but Caesar moves out of range. Hallava tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Caesar is able to avoid easily. Caesar avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hallava connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Hallava throws a right and a left that both miss. Hallava defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Caesar. Caesar wants to clinch and Hallava counters with a two punch combo. Caesar is looking to clinch. Caesar shoots in for a double leg but Hallava sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Caesar scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hallava doesn't seem bothered though. Caesar tries to close the distance and clinch but Hallava swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Julius Hallava seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Caesar lands with an overhand left. Caesar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hallava tries to avoid it but Caesar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hallava to the ground. Hallava escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hallava misses with a shot to the body and Caesar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Caesar postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hallava to stand up. Caesar shoots for a takedown but Hallava saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hallava lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Caesar circles away quickly and effectively. Julius Hallava is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Caesar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Both fighters circling a little - Hallava finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Caesar moves out of range of the strikes. The fighters circling - Hallava throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Caesar dives in and grabs Hallava's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hallava pushes down on Caesar's head and hops out. Hallava will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hallava takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hallava on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Hallava, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Caesar bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hallava's head backwards. Hallava tries to score with a low kick but Caesar moves his leg out of the way. Caesar looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caesar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Caesar stands and steps away. Hallava gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caesar scores with a jab to the body. Hallava gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Caesar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Caesar controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Julius Hallava has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gaius Julius Caesar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Further stalling from Caesar.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Julius Hallava. I think Caesar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
