Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Mortensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mortensen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to In Extremo - Krummavisur. Gunnar Mortensen is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gunnar Mortensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter OBrien!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien clinches.
OBrien dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
OBrien is trying to break the clinch but Mortensen is controlling him.
Mortensen has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed OBrien clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
OBrien is trying to break free.
Mortensen is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
OBrien tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
OBrien regains half guard.

Mortensen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mortensen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down OBrien for as long as he can get away with.
OBrien controlling the position well.
Mortensen content to control rather than advance.
OBrien pushes Mortensen off and gets back to his feet.

OBrien scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
OBrien lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mortensen shoots in looking for a takedown. OBrien tries to sprawl out of it but Mortensen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. OBrien manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
OBrien feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mortensens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mortensen dives in and grabs OBrien's left leg, looking for a takedown. OBrien pushes down on Mortensen's head and hops out.
Mortensen goes for a double leg but OBrien avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as OBrien continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunnar Mortensen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
OBrien stalling in the clinch.
Mortensen wants to take the fight to the mat but OBrien manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
OBrien pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mortensen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
OBrien throws a head kick but Mortensen moves out of range.
OBrien shoots in for a takedown but Mortensen shows good takedown defense.
OBrien misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from OBrien. No joy for Mortensen on that attempt.

and OBrien makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mortensen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around OBrien's waist but OBrien gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mortensen off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mortensen.
OBrien misses with a head kick.
OBrien is looking to slow Mortensen down with leg kicks.
OBrien is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've been informed that OBrien has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

OBrien keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A low kick from Mortensen is predictable there
and OBrien counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mortensen.
Mortensen is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
OBrien is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mortensen has just dragged him back down to the mat.
OBrien prevents Mortensen from moving into mount.
OBrien tries to buck Mortensen off but Mortensen is having none of it.
OBrien is not content to let Mortensen control the position.
OBrien is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter OBrien dominated that round.
That's time! Mortensen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
OBrien lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Mortensen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
OBrien feints a jab promting Mortensen to slip. OBrien then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mortensen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and OBrien counters with a lovely shot to the body.
OBrien gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
OBrien wants to break the clinch but can't.
OBrien is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mortensen to keep the fight standing.
OBrien breaks the clinch.
Mortensen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mortensen lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mortensen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
OBrien utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mortensen throws an elbow that misses. OBrien uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mortensen's guard. Nice move by OBrien!
OBrien throws a big right hand that misses.
Mortensen wants to sweep but no luck.
Gunnar Mortensen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
OBrien distracts Mortensen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
OBrien stands and throws Mortensen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mortensen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

OBrien lands a decent elbow from side control.
Mortensen can't do much from the bottom here.
OBrien lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mortensen down.
