Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Well Rounded (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Mendes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Well Rounded! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes dives in and grabs Rounded's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rounded pushes down on Mendes's head and hops out. Rounded with a lazy takedown attempt and Mendes counters with a series of strikes. Rounded will be more careful next time no doubt. Mendes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rounded is trying to get back to half guard. Rounded is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Rounded prevents Mendes from moving into mount. Rounded gets back to half guard. Rounded tries to roll over but Mendes keeps him under control. Rounded tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Mendes wants to take a breather but Rounded is having none of it. Rounded tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes wants to pass to mount but Rounded is defending the position. Mendes is trying to control. Rounded wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mendes wants to pass the guard but Rounded is defending well. Rounded punching from the bottom.
Mendes prevents Rounded from improving his position. Rounded is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Mendes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rounded on the ground. Rounded tries to reverse the position but Mendes maintains control. Rounded flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendes trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rounded swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Mendes lands a couple of good shots and Rounded has given up his back, trying to escape the position! You can see the frustration on Rounded's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Rounded is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mendes gets his way!
Mendes is breathing heavily. Mendes is hanging on to Rounded's back as he tries to escape.
Mendes doesn't have the hooks in and Rounded manages to turn into his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rounded tries to free his leg and advance position but Mendes is retaining full guard. Rounded is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mendes wants to hit a switch here but Rounded passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mendes there! Rounded is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mendes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mendes wants to hold on but Rounded pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Mendes that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rounded working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Rounded cracks Mendes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Rounded lands a heavy elbow. Rounded is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mendes to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mendes shrugs it off. Rounded lands a nice shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mendes wants to hold on but Rounded pushes him away. Rounded lands a heavy elbow. Rounded working Mendes over with strikes here. Mendes takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Well Rounded dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rounded bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mendes wants to control but Rounded postures up. Rounded in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Rounded landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Rounded lands an elbow. Mendes is looking to reverse the position. Rounded has an Americana. Mendes didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rounded is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rounded hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Well Rounded!
