Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Newton Barlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton Barlow has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Newton Barlow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Marshall! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall misses with a double jab.
Marshall wants to slow Barlow down by chopping away at his legs. Marshall throws a body shot but no joy. Marshall misses with a leg kick. Barlow moves out of range of the body kick. Marshall lands a nice hook to Barlow's body. Barlow takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Barlow could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Marshall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barlow circles away quickly and effectively. Marshall fails to land with a series of punches.
Marshall drops Barlow with a beautiful combination! Barlow stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Marshall is looking for the KO!
It looks like Newton Barlow has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marshall throws a nice looking combination but Barlow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Marshall tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Marshall throws a head kick that misses. Marshall tries a head kick but it misses.
Marshall leaves Barlow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. No luck for Barlow with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Barlow counters with a leg kick. Marshall throws a series of punches but Barlow moves out of range. Marshall tries a head kick but it misses.
Marshall looks winded! Barlow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marshall is fending him off so far but Barlow persists. Nope, Marshall circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Newton Barlow. That's going to take a lot out of him. No joy there for Marshall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barlow shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marshall sprawls well. Marshall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barlow gets slowly back to his feet. Barlow avoids the head kick by Marshall.
Marshall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Marshall jabs Barlow to the body, keeping him at a distance. A right-left combo lands from Marshall. Barlow misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall throws a head kick that misses and Barlow counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. James Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barlow moves out of range of the body kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barlow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Barlow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Marshall looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Barlow lands a couple of decent looking shots. Marshall is looking to stand back up but Barlow counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Marshall. Marshall pushes Barlow off, looking to escape but Barlow dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Marshall is forced to tap! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Newton Barlow!
